About Us

Le Cafeier

Nestled amidst the boutiques, cafes, pubs and groceries of Darling Street, Balmain, the constant buzz of grinding coffee makes Le Cafeier the preferred destination for true caffeine enthusiasts. From the large bay window to the cottage style tables and communal benches, this white-walled, plant-filled café always offers a warm welcome, courtesy of Arda, Oscar and Eddie – a trio of Turkish coffee-nuts, food-lovers and fans of Besiktas football club. At Le Cafeier, the dedication to great coffee is immediately apparent – the logo is made from coffee beans – and the rich scent of roasting and grinding Le Cafeier Masto Houseblend Beans fills the air. The coffee is complemented by a sumptuous array of artisan jams, delicate cheeses, and home-made cakes and slices – all lovingly baked by Arda’s wife

Who we are?

Opening in May 2012 Le Cafeier has made its mark on the inner west, thanks to a perfect combination of rich coffee, sumptuous Mediterranean cuisine, and an irrepressibly convivial atmosphere. Le Cafeier Masto Houseblend Beans have proved so popular in the café that they are now also available take-away for home-brewing. Head Chef and Co-owner Arda is a serious foodie. The influence of his Turkish heritage is scattered throughout the menu including such Traditional Turkish offerings as Menemen, Gozleme and Lamb Mince Claypot. The popular all-day-breakfast menu includes an omelette stuffed with parsley, fetta and dill, as well as fresh fruit and vegetable juices and smoothies including the Pomegranate Mojito and Hazelnut Frappuccino.
